First official day of summer break together

Do you see those curls coming out from underneath her hat???

We celebrated by playing in the water on the patio (before it reached 90 degrees, that is). We also ended up going to the doctor because Amelia has very strange swollen/bruised areas on the bottom of both of her heels that are bothering her because she is walking around on her tip-toes. Doc says probably from a certain pair of her shoes she's wearing (although we don't know which ones...and let me just say that I tried being a good detective here by bringing four pairs of shoes that she's been wearing recently and the doctor laughed at me!!!) and/or it may be caused by her wearing her swim shoes too long while her feet are wet.
And they are wet all the time because as long as we're outside, this child has to have some water to play in!!! We're going to give it some time-he said her feet may just have to get used to it and we have to try to let her go barefoot outside-yikes!
I must say that makes me nervous, being someone who: a) is scared to death to step on a bug of any kind b) doesn't want her to get splinters on the deck and c) is afraid she will stub her toes on the concrete. Wish us (me) luck with that one. I will probably need a drink the next time we are outside and Amelia's playing in water!

Ha ha. Bite your tongue, momma--don't want to teach any neurotic fears. Don't ya know you're supposed to let them eat dirt--good for the constitution!
Amelia is so obsessed with water that she even wants to play in the holy water at church! Barefooting it is going great...she loves it!
cute little water baby! she's got a nice little set-up there. -Julie C.
